Sharmila Tagore is India’s icon at Cannes
Indian actress Sharmila Tagore, wife of former Indian cricket captain Nawab of Pataudi and mother of actors Saif Ali Khan and Soha Ali Khan, has been invited to be on the International Jury of the main competition at the 62nd Festival de Cannes.
Indian journalists too are being honoured in Cannes. Last year writer, journalist and TV presenter Anu Chopra was invited to be on the Jury of “Un Certain Regard” a section only a step away from the main competition.
Sharmila Tagore is currently shooting in London for a film being directed by London-based academic Sangeeta Dutta. Sharmila’s daughter Soha is also acting in this film.
All the top media companies from Reliance to UTV, to Studio 18 and Eros International are headed for Cannes, renting their own space and spotlighting their latest films and future plans.
