After “Bandit Queen” acclaimed director Sekhar Kapoor moved on to Hollywood and he was nominated for Academy awards for “Elizabeth” and its sequel “Elizabeth: The Golden Age”. He made his debut as director with the portrayal of an illegitimate son gaining family acceptance in Masoom (1983) and then directed the 1987 science-fiction film “Mr India” featuring Anil Kapoor and Sri Devi.
Sekhar Kapoor is now in Mumbai and is planning to make a Hindi film with Hrithik Roshan as the hero. Script work is in progress. Most probably the film will be made simultaneously in Hindi and English. The film will be an adventure story with romance.
Sekhar Kapoor and Boney Kapoor are also planning to make a sequel to “Mr India”.
