Santosh Sivan to make “Ceylon” dealing with LTTE
Cinematographer turned director Santosh Sivan is planning to make a film titled “Ceylon” which is a political film dealing with the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) and its armed struggle in Sri Lanka and the death of its leader Velupillai Prabhakaran.
Sivan will handle the camera and direct this film which will be a multilingual with Sinhalese, Tamil, Malayalam and Hindi versions. He plans to shoot the film in the jungles of Sri Lanka and the cast will include Tamil, Malayalam and Sri Lankan Artistes.
Sivan is awaiting the requisite permissions to shoot “Celon” in the jungles of Sri Lanka. Recently, Ram Gopal Varma shot his horror film “Agnyat” in the same locations.
Sivan has recently completed his English film “Before The Rains” which is awaiting release. Sivan’s directorial ventures include “Asoka “, “The Terrorist”, “Tahaan” among others. As cameraman he worked for “Dil Se”, “ Roja” , “Kalapani” and others.
