On Wednesday officials said that on late Tuesday, Incarcerated Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt, who was granted two weeks’ furlough by the state prison authorities, has been released from Yerwada Central Jail (YCJ).
A Mantralaya official, requesting ambiguity, had said earlier on Wednesday that Mr Dutt would be released later in the day.
Mr Dutt, who is currently dollop a five-year jail term since nearly 18 months, had applied for the liberty in Nov.
In Oct 2013 on medical he took furlough 28days, followed by a similar leave for 28 days in Dec 2013, to tend to his ailing wife Maanyata – the latter had triggered protests. In January for another 28 days his wife’s prolonged illness prompted him to seek further set free.
