Salman Khan's Ek Tha Tiger Banned In Pakistan

Salman Khan‘s Ek Tha Tiger was to be released in Pakistan with 35 prints on Eid through Pakistani distributor Atif Rashid. However, the film is said to have been banned by Pakistan Censor Board. It is reported that the PCB did not make any official announcement but informed Atif that the film is not permitted to release in Pakistan.

Nearly half a dozen films in the last five years have been banned in Pakistan. The last film to be banned in Pakistan was Saif Ali Khan‘s Agent Vinod which also had mentions of Pakistan’s intelligence agency ISI.

Director Kabir Khan said that the film is a love story and not about a spy war between India’s RAW and Pakistan’s ISI. He lamented that it is unfortunate that Pakistanis are deprived of watching Salman Khan’s film that too on Eid festival day.

Bollywood sources say that the ban on Ek Tha Tiger in Pakistan will only help the piracy bandits who would work overtime to sell illicit DVDs in Pakistan.
