Ribhu Dasgupta’s Michael to premiere at Toronto fest
Ribhu Dasgupta’s debut directorial venture Michael has been selected for world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival. This is the only film selected for the prestigeous Film Festival.
The film Michael, produced by Anurag Kashyap, is a character-driven psychological thriller, which captures a father-son relationship. The role of the father is played by Naseeruddin Shah. Bengali actors Sabyasachi Chakraborty and Rudranil Ghosh play pivotal roles in the film which has the backdrop of North Kolkata.
Ribhu Dasgupta says that the English musician Cat Steven’s song “Father and Son” was the inspiration for his first film.
