Ram Gopal Varma is planning to write a book on Cost Reduction in Film Production. It will be the story of how his Telugu film Dongala Mutta is made.
RGV shot the Dongala Mutta in just 5 days of 9am to 6pm shifts in day light with 4 canon digital hand held cameras. The film has a story and top stars of Tollywood acted in it but without any remuneration. Even the meager crew of 8 members were not paid. The initial costs were only for transportation, hiring charges and refreshments during the shoot. There were no costumes and make-up. The cast and crew will share the profits.
Once the film is released on March 4 and if it becomes successful, then RGV will bring out a book on Cost Reduction in Film Production. There are also other tips on cost reduction which RGV is said to have implemented while shooting for Rakta Charitra and Appalaraju.
