Director Prabhakar Jaini had earlier brought out a movie on surrogate mothers titled ‘Amma Neeku Vandanam’. In that movie, he explained the language of heart of those women in a memorable way. The same Prabhakar Jaini had moulded another film titled ‘Ampasayya’ based on a novel written by Naveen, who has become popular as ‘Ampasayya Naveen’. However, the shooting of the film was done few decades ago at Osmania University and it was produced by Vijayalakshmi Jaini on the banner of Jaini Creations and Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya Films. Shyamkumar and Pavani are playing the lead roles and there is only one song in that movie. The film has music by Sandeep while Hemachandra lent the voice for the lone song. The scene of the song is like this – A youth has to pay Rs 200 (during 1965-70) as fee for his MA (post-graduation) which his father unable to adjust. So, his mother gives away the silver anklets and tells her son to sell it off for the fees. However, the youth could secure only Rs 150 after selling the anklets and the youth’s parents cry for their inability to adjust Rs 200 for his education. In this scene, the director of the film Prabhakar Jaini and the producer Vijayalakshmi Jaini played the youth’s parents and the song comes up as a montage song. The lyrics of the song would really touch the hearts of audiences. As the film relates to 1960s and 70s, the environment, costumes, the beliefs of the society, the caste conflict, old model houses would reflect in the song. The producers are making efforts to release the film as a trilingual and are dubbing the film from Telugu to Tamil and Malayalam and the film would be released simultaneously in all the languages. As per experts’ advice, we are trying to improvise the film as much as possible. Already DI (digital intermediate) work was complete and GV is presently busy with re-recording activity. Shyam Kumar, Pavani, Monika Thomson, Sharat, Yogi Diwan, Radhakrishna, Valmiki, Swathi Naidu and several other Telugu University students played roles in the movie. Akella Raghavendra played in a special character.
