Rana Daggubati, grandson of veteran producer D Rama Naidu is making his Tollywood debut with the film “Leader” produced by AVM Studios and directed by Sekhar Kammula. Even before the release of this film, Rana has been signed up by filmmaker Rohan Sippy for his forthcoming untitled film dealing with drug trafficking in Goa.
Abhishek Bachchan plays the protagonist in this film and Rana will be his co-star playing the role of a Goan musician. Earlier, Rohan toyed with the idea of casting Farhan Akthar Khan or Emraan Hashmi, but these two actors have date problems. When the filmmaker saw the photo-stills of Rana in “Leader” and immediately signed him for the role.
The film, loosely based on the Hollywood film “Traffic”, will be mostly shot in Goa and the filming will start soon.
