Ramesh Sippy Back To Direction With Big B Film
Ramesh Sippy, who rewrote the grammar of Indian mainstream cinema with such iconic films as Sholay, Shakti, Shaan, Sagar, Seeta Aur Geeta and Andaz, is coming out of a long hiatus of 17 years to wield the megaphone. His last film was Zamana Deewana in 1995.
The director is on record saying that he did not retire from filmmaking as he produced a dozen films in the last decade. He says he did not get a script that excited him to direct.
Writer Sridhar Raghvan has come out with a thriller and Ramesh Sippy decided to produce and direct the film. He is already in discussions with a corporate production house for a tie-up. Pre-production work is in progress.
The buzz is that Amitabh Bachchan would lay the central role in this film.
