Controversies and legal tangles are not knew to filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma. Producer Bharat Shah who produced RGV’s films like Satya, Mast, Jungle, Company and RGV Ki Aag has now filed a complaint with the Association of Motion Pictures Television Programme Producers (AMPTPP) against RGV for non-payment of dues totalling Rs 20 crores to him.
Shah says that he has paid Rs 10 crore to RGV. The amount has doubled to over Rs 20 crore with interest over the years. The AMPTPP has sent a notice to RGV who is yet to respond.
Meanwhile, RGV’s recent announcement of plans to make Sathya 2 has given rise to a fresh controversy. Bharat Shah says the rights to Sathya are with him as its producer and without his permission Sathya 2 cannot be made.
Presently, RGV is busy with post-production works of the sequel to Bhoot and the pre-production works of 26/11 attacks.
