The Bombay High Court has rejected any interim relief in a suit filed against the film 13 B which is due for release on March 6.
Producer Sanjay Haran had filed the suit over the title of the movie contending that his yet to be made film titled 13 was registered much before 13 B.
The petitioner argued that he had a right to object to the title, which is similar to his own and registered in December 2007 whereas 13 B was registered only last month.
However, Amit Naik counsel for BIG Pictures and Adlabs, the producers of the 13 B, maintained that the film’s title is actually 13 B…Fear has a New Address and therefore dissimilar to 13.
Observing that Sanjay Haran could have moved court earlier Justice A V Nirgude declined to grant any interim relief or stay the release of the film 13B.
