Producer Salim Akhtar Files Case Against Tamanna

Producer Salim Akhtar says that he introduced Tamanna Bhatia to Bollywood in the film Chand Sa Roshan Chehra in 2005. The film was directed by Shabah Shamsi and the producer’s nephew Samir Aftab made his debut in the film. It was a disaster at the box office.

Later, Tamanna migrated to the South and she is a star in great demand in Telugu and Tamil film industries. She is also signed by Sajid Khan to star opposite Ajay Devgn in the Himmatwala remake.

Producer Salim Akhtar says that he had an agreement with Tamannah dated October 28, 2003 which clearly states that she is on a revenue sharing basis with his company, Aftab Pictures Pvt Ltd, from March 2005 till March 2010. He says though she did so well in the south after his film, he did not get his 25% share from her remuneration. He has now filed
a case against her in the Court of Additional Chief Magistrate Sealdah, Kolkata.
