Prakash Jha, winner of multiple National Awards, has announced that his next film is titled Satyagraha and will star Amitabh Bachchan in the central role. He says he is inspired by the Anna Hazare movement against corruption and his film deals with the concept of peaceful protest.The script work for Satyagraha is already in progress and it will go on floors in January 2012.
Jha’s latest film Aarakshan on the controversial theme of reservations is in theatres. His last film Rajneeti was a hard hitting commentary on the present day politics. His other socio-political films are Damul (1984),Mrityudand (1997), Gangaajal (2003) and Apaharan (2005).
The film maker has won 9 National Film Awards, 3 International Awards and 3 Filmfare awards so far.
