No Bollywood films in multiplexes from April 4
Bollywood producers may stop releasing their films in multiplexes across the country from April 4 onwards if the revenue sharing issue is not resolved.
There is an ongoing tussle between producers and distributors on one side and of multiplex exhibitors on the other over revenue-sharing.
Film makers Mahesh Bhatt and Yash Chopra told reporters in Mumbai that the Bollywood Producers Council has decided to stop screening of films in multiplexes if those exhibitors and distributors do not agree for a fair share of revenues between producers, distributors and multiplex exhibitors.
The Bollywood producers are demanding 50:50 revenue sharing with exhibitors.
