Nippu Movie Review
Nippu follows the time-tested formula of romance, some comedy, song-and-dance and fights.
Surya (Ravi Teja) manages a gym and is in the habit of beating the baddies when injustice is done to innocent citizens. He has an affinity with the family of Murthy (Rajendra Prasad). He is a close friend of Murthy’s son Sri (Sriram) and in love with his daughter Meghna (Deeksha Seth).
In his pursuit of confronting injustice, Surya gets into serious conflict with don Raja Goud (Pradeep Rawat). Meanwhile, Sri goes to Saudi Arabia for a job and gets arrested for the alleged murder of Vaishnavi (Bhavana).
In a Twist to the tale, Raja Goud can be the trouble shooter for Sri. Will Surya appease don Raja ro rescue his buddy Sri? What is the connection between Sri and Vaishnavi? What is the background of Vaishnavi? Will Surya be able to save the situation? Answers to these questions lead to a predictable but unconvincing climax.
Ravi Teja is ebullient and carries the film on his able shoulders. His typical dialogue delivery is quite comic. Rajendra Prasad does not have many dramatic moments to make mark. Sriram acquits himself well. Deeksha Seth looka glamorous and that is about all. Pradeep Rawat fumes his characteristic villainy.
Brahmanandam gives a few laughs. Mukul Dev has not much to do. Brhmaji, Jayaprakash Reddy and Dharmavarapu Subramanyam are their usual selves. All others are adequate in their roles.
The story is based on a very fragile premise and the characterization of the lead actors and main supporting actors leaves much to be desired. The screenplay attracts the attention of the audience but the songs and fights somehow did not sync with the narration flow. The dialogues are ok and those written for Ravi Teja have punch and wit. Music is good. Cinematography is good.
Nippu will be liked by Ravi Teja’s fans. Gunasekhar has come out with just above average fare. The film has no ingredients for attracting repeat audience. You can see the movie, if you have time and nothing better to do.
