Director Neelakanta’s film Virodhi, starring Srikanth and Kamalini Mukherjee, has become the only Telugu film selected for screening at the Indian Panaroma at the ensuing 42nd International Film Festival of India to be held in Goa from November 23 to December 3.
Virodhi is a socio-political thriller with Naxalism as a backdrop. The film has been produced by Srikanth’s brother Anil Meka under the banner of Meka Media. Its music was scored by RP Patnaik. The star cast included Ajay, Kamal Kamaraju, Shivaji Raja, Nagineedu, Ramya, Ahuthi Prasad and others.
Neelakanta has earlier won the National Award for Best Screenplay for his debut film Show.
The 42nd International Film Festival of India will open with the screening of Santosh Sivan’s Malayalam film Urumi.
