Actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui, who surprised everybody in Kahaani and enthralled the audience in Gangs of Wasseypur I & II, has won the Best Actor Award for his performance as a mute road worker in the film Dekh Indian Circus at the 12th New York Indian Film Festival (NYIFF). The female lead of the film Tannishtha Chatterjee also won the Best Actress Award.
The movie premiered at the 16th Busan Film Festival (New Currents Section) in South Korea and won the Best Film Award (Audience Choice).
Dekh Indian Circus tells a simple story of a poor mother taking her kids to see the circus, and the misadventures they encounter along the way. This film is directed by National Award winning filmmaker Mangesh Hadawale and produced by vivek oberoi, Mahaveer Jain, Anil Lad & Chirag Shah under the banner of Sundial Pictures.
The western style score of the film has been composed by American musician Wayne Sharpe, while the rest of the music is by Shankar Ehsaan Loy with lyrics penned by Prasoon Joshi.
Dekh Indian Circus is slated for release on October 7.
