Nawazudin Siddiqui says that Bollywood is now mature enough to welcome character-driven stories and is saying goodbye to routine ones. He gave the example of his film ‘Badlapur’ which showed an altogether different type of images of a hero and a villain.
‘The Lunchbox’ star said that the film industry is passing through a very interesting phase where even the top stars are ready to experiment with their images.
He said, “Lines are blurring now between character-actors and the typical Bollywood heroes. Today, character is the hero in a film. There is no typical hero or villain now. Like in ‘Badlapur’, Varun and I are both heroes as well as villains.”
Talking to PTI Nawazuddin said, “In fact the superstars are also attempting that. I am working with Shah Rukh Khan in ‘Raees’, where he plays a gangster so that is again a character.”
The 40-year-old actor is very much praised for his performance in ‘Badlapur’. He said that this film was like dream come true for him.
