Producer Natti Kumar filed a complaint with the regional officer of the censor board in Hyderabad, against producer C Kalyan, who is releasing the Telugu version of the Tamil film Thaandavam.
Kumar’s allegation is that UTV Motion Pictures, which produced the Tamil film Thaandavam, applied for a censor certificate for the film in Chennai as a straight Tamil film and got a U certificate.
However, C Kalyan also applied for censor certificate for the Telugu dubbed version titled Shiva Thandavam in Hyderabad claiming as a straight Telugu film.
Natti claims that if Kalyan gets a certificate for Shiva Thandavam as a straight Telugu film, he can evade the entertainment tax of 12.5% which is a loss to the exchequers of both Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.
Siva Thandavam is scheduled to release on September 28.
