National Awards: Vetrimaran wins best director, Advaitam Best Educational film

Vetrimaran was selected as best director for Tamil film Aadukulam. Malayalam film Adaminte Makan Abu was adjudged best feature film at the 58th National Film Awards.

Salim Kumar and Dhanush were selected best actors from Adaminte Makan Abu and Aadukulam. Dabangg won National Award for the best popular film providing wholesome entertainment.

Best Feature Film: Adamante Makan Abu

Best Director: Veerimaran

Best English film: Memories in March

Best special effects: Enthiran, Robot

Best Music Sirector (songs): Vishal Bhardwaj: Ishqiya

Best Audiography Award: Ishqiya

Best Female Singer: Rekha Bhardwaj: Ishqiya

Best Male singer: Suresh Wadkar

Special jury award: Kabira Khada Bazaar Mein

Best Educational film: Advaitam (This is the only Telugu film to win an award)

Best Art & culture film: Leaving Home
