Maryada Ramanna Movie Review
Maryada Ramanna is a wonderfully crafted comedy based on the inherent conflict of hospitality versus vengeance, that too in the backdrop of the vexatious factionism.
Ramu (Sunil) is a simple person and has no knowledge of the past of his family. He encounters Aparna (Saloni Aswani) on a train journey. Ramu goes to a village and stays in the house of Ramineedu (Nagineedu). He gets the traditional hospitality from the household of Ramineedu.
It is revealed that Ramu’s father and Ramineedu’s brother kill each other in a faction feud. After realising that Ramu is the son of the killer of his brother, Ramineedu wants to kill Ramu to avenge death of his brother. But, he does not want to kill ramu in his house as he is bound by the custom of hospitality. He waits for Ramu to go out so that he can liquidate him. Ramu als realises the threat to his life and takes care not to leave the house of Ramineedu.
Will Ramineedu kill Ramu? What is the role of Aparna to save Ramu? Then there is the cycle with the voice over of Ravi Teja; what is the typical role of the cycle? Answers to these questions conclude this hilarious film.
Sunil, with an author backed role, excels in his performance. His comic timing even while enacting a serious episode reveals his maturity as a complete actor. Saloni Aswani is quite glamorous and has inherent potential as an actress. Nagineedu is impressive. Brahmanandam tickles your funny bone. Rao Ramesh and Brahmaji are good. All others fit their roles and add to the totality of charecter competence.
SS Rajamouli, with a well-knit script and flawless screenplay, scores his 8th consecutive hit at the box office. His handling of the tragi-comic situations is superb. Dialogues add punch to the proceedings. The cinematography is truly world class. Music adds to the spice of the narration. Technically the film is well made. Production values are high.
Come on…Rush to your nearest theatre to see Maryada Ramanna…It is a commercial cinematic entertainment which you cannot afford to miss.
Please don’t miss the first half an hour and enjoy the cycle with Ravi Teja’s typical voice and diction.
