Mary Kom Director Omung Kumar is Making a Film on Sarabjit’s Conviction

Omung Kumar, best known for his successful biopic on Mary Kom starring priyanka chopra is now planning to make a film on the convicted Indian prisoner Sarabjit Singh, who finally dies in Pakistan after being illegally jailed for being an Indian spy. The director is looking for a perfect cast to play to character of Sarbajit’s sister Dalbir Kaur, who was instrumental in getting international attention for the plight of her jailed brother. Big names such as Sonakshi Sinha, Kangana Ranaut , Deepika Padukone etc have been doing the rounds, but no specific cast has been announced.

The film is being produced by Zeishan Quadri and would start shooting from October onwards. Sarbajit Singh was an Indian convict who was sentenced to be executed in Pakistan, after being jailed for almost 23 years. His execution was finally stopped, but he died due to brain injuries after being brutally attacked in Jail.
