Popular Bollywood actress Madhuri Dixit has been served a notice for endorsing Maggi noodles, days after the popular instant snack brand was recalled across some parts of the country due to high levels of lead and MSG (Monosodium Glutamate). The recall was initiated in UP after the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) found more than permitted levels of these chemicals across a wide sample of the noodle brand. She was asked to respond within 15 days or else risk a case being filed against her. She had appeared in an Ad for Maggi which describes the nutritive value of the brand.
The manufactures of Maggi, Nestle India have denied that these additives were purposefully added, and said that they could be coming from natural ingredients used while manufacturing.
