Lafangey Parindey Movie Review
Lafangey Parindey is the story of a street fighter with a heart and is told with conviction in spite of the usual commercial cinema style.
Nandu (Niel Nitin Mukhesh) is a street fighter and fan of Anna (Kay Kay Menon). Both of them are given an assignment by the don Usmanbhai (Mishra). While Anna gets killed on the rough job, Nandu knocks off Pinky (Deepika Padukone) who becomes blind. She is a dancer and is aiming to win the India’s Got Talent contest. Both of them incidentally belong to the same locality. He takes upon himself to help Pinky win the dance competition. Meanwhile the police are on the look out for Nandu and Usmanbhai. The rest of the story deals with how Nandu manages to help Pinky realise her dream.
Niel Nitin Mukhesh is emerging as an actiing force to reckon with. He is showing more maturity with each film. Deepika is a natural actress. She combines glamour with powerful emoting capability. Kay Kay Menon shines in his cameo. All others essay their well etched roles well.
The plot is not new but the way it was narrated is novel. The screenplay keeps the audience interest. Dialogues are meaningful and have punch. Music is very good. Cinematography is superb and so is editing, both enhancing the narration speed. Pradeep Sarkar has properly balanced the action and emotional sequences well so that the story telling gets the attention of the audience.
Lafangey Parindey is a well made commercial film and is worth watching for its sheer cinematic presentation.
