Kurradu, a remake of the Tamil film “Polladavan” is about adolescent aberrations and youthful passions and the ultimate realization of familial responsibility.
Varun (varun sandesh), hailing from a middle class family, is a care-free lad
without any goal about his future and chills out with his friends. His father (Tanikella Bharani) is not happy with his irresponsible ways of life.
Varun falls in love with Hema (Neha Sharma). He has a passion for bikes. His father (Tanikella Bharani) is forced to give him money and he buys a bike. He also gets a job of a loan recovery agent in a bank.
Things are smooth until his bike is stolen. A series of events lead Varun to confront the underworld don Satya’s (Ravi Shankar) brother and his gang. He also realizes that his family is in danger from the gangsters.
The rest of the story deals with how Varun gets back his bike, protect his family and win the heart of Hema.
Varun Sandesh, who played soft roles so far, appears to be comfortable with action roles also. He essays his role well and carries the film on his able shoulders. His fights without six-pack abs do not look convincing. Neha Sharma has nothing much to do except looking glamorous. Tanikella Bahrani gives a convincing performance as the middle class head of the family.
Pragathi and Ravi Shankar fit their roles perfectly. Ali, MS Narayana, Venu and Chitram Seenu give the laughs.
Being a remake, debutant director Sandeep Gunnam, seem to have stuck to
the “Polladavan” format and structure but the narration could have been racier. There are some dull moments in the screenplay. There is not much of novelty in the treatment of the film.Dialogues at many places lack punch.
Music by Achchu has nothing much to write about. Background score by Koti is impressive. Sarvesh Murari’s camera work is good.
Kurradu is another mainstream genre film with songs and fights and can be
seen once if you have time to while away.
