Kudirithe Kappu Coffee Movie Review
Kudirithe Kappu Coffee has novelty written all over the theme and its narration has an interesting edge with vibrant visuals and good music.
Venu (Varun Sandesh) completes his education and is waiting to do something out of the routine. His close friend commits suicide because of a failed love affair. Deeply affected, Venu develops a deep dislike for indulging in romance. His father (Bheemaneni Srinivas Rao), a businessman sends him to a hill resort Dakshina Giri to take care of a Coffee Shop which he gifted to a debt-ridden teacher Malathi (Sukumari). Lasya (Suma Bhattacharya), grand daughter of Malathi, a graduate in Hotel Management, wants to transform the Coffee Shop into a resort-hotel.
As Venu and Lasya try to work on the development of the Coffee Shop, she develops a soft corner towards Venu and even falls in love with him.
Does Venu, who hates love affairs respond to the romantic advances of Lasya? What happens to the Coffee Shop? What does fate in store for Venu and Lasya? Answers to these questions forms the rest of the story.
Varun Sandesh gives a decent performance. Suma Bhattachaya is ebullient and has talent. Bheemineni is quite good in the role of father. Tanikella Bharani and Sukumari are quite adequate. All others suit their parts.
Ramana Salva comes out with a good presentation, but the screenplay does not give any impetus to the narration to be more interesting for viewing. The contrast of the charaters of the hero and heroine have not been completely taken advantage of to make their interactions more absorbing. Dialogues lack spice. Music by Yogeswar Sharma is very good. Santosh Rai’s cinematography is superb. Production values are high.
Kudirithe Kappu Coffee is visually vibrant with good music. The story is told in a laid-back manner which may not appeal to the regular movie goer. The film is likely to be appreciated more by the critical cine buffs and the multiplex crowd.
