Noted filmmaker, whose biopic Rang Rasiya on the life of painter Raja Ravi Varma is awaiting release, has announced his next film which is also a biopic.
There is this story of a poor destitute Bihari labourer Dashrath Manjhi who spent 22 years of his life single handedly digging a road into a mountain with a hammer and chisel after his wife died because the mountain prevented him from taking her to the nearest hospital 70 kms away from his village near the town of Gaya.
Ketan said that the film will be a tribute to the labourer’s grit and determination and he would cast a new comer to play the labourer. He gave the title The Mountain Man for this film.
Ketan Mehta is known for films like Mirch Masala, Maya Memsaab and Aar Ya Paar among others. His latest film Rang Rasiya stars Randeep Hooda, Nandana Sen and Triptha Parashar. It is yet to release in India; it is shown in various international film festivals.
