Katha Screenplay Darsakatvam Appalaraju Audio Review

Katha Screenplay Darsakatvam Appalaraju Audio Review

This album marks return of RGV and one would have expected a gangwar film or a horror film on his return. By doing a satirical comedy, he has proven to all that you cannot predict RGV. When I heard the audio, I thought for myself if I can ever predict RGV. The music is unlike RGV and I would say there is very little scope for music in this album. It probably holds good for any comedy movie. Said that, I should say Koti has done a very good job in whatever opportunity he got. I thought the songs were written first and then tuned. The album has 12 songs where there are 9 songs and 2 remixes. Even this is a surprise as a director like RGV who seldom thought songs are not necessary in a movie thought otherwise. Let us see how the audio fared.

LUCKKU TO SHIVA CINEMA
Singer:
Srikanth
Lyricist: Kaluva Sai

This song was released on the film launch and I would say this is the best song in the album. He starts the song by doing on satire on himself and he either wanted to show the world that when he doesn’t spare himself he wont spare any. The best was reserved for the director with whom RGV started as assistant- B Gopal and his one time assistant Gunasekhar. Boyapati also bore the brunt to any extent. While everyone would have thought that RGV created this song as satire on other directors, the fact is anyone who thinks he can do a better film that existing directors would sing the same way. Srikanth did a good job while Kaluva Sai wrote required lyrics. Koti didn’t have much scope in this song.

MAYABAZAARU
Singer:
Srikanth
Lyricist: Kaluva Sai

This song is again sung by Srikanth and written by Kaluva Sai. The song is all about aspirations of a film maker and what he wants to do in film industry. He talks about how he wants to make the movie and what type of films he wants to make. He says he wants to teach acting to Kamalhassam, change the cigarette style of rajni etc., The best is to make a silent film with Dialogue King Mohanbabu. It is all about Goppalu cheppe Appalraaju. To that extent the song makers did a good job.

NAA PERU SRISAILAM NE CHESTHA ROWDYISM
Singer:
Dr Brahmanandam
Lyricist: Kaluva Sai

The Song is about a dada srisailam who thinks he is the best and who think the entire world including film industry is at his feet. Dr. Brahmanandam did a good job on debut in singing this song. Since it looks like the song is written first and tuned later, there is not much scope but Koti did good job in elevating the mood with good background music.

EMETTI PENCHARE AMMA NAANNA NINNU
Singer:
Simha & Gita Madhuri
Lyricist: Ram Gopal Varma

The song is written by RGV himself and as we know is a duet in the film that appalraju makes in the film. RGV did well in writing satirical song. Coinings like Avi Kandalaa Raathi bandalaa are good. As this is a satirical song, the lyrics are apt and the singers did good job.

UNBELIEVABLE
Singer:
Sriram Chandra & Swathi
Lyricist: Kaluva Sai

The song is sung by Sri Ram Chandra and Swathi. The surprise package in this song is swathi herself who has sung the song and cuteness in her voice is felt in the song also. Sriram Chandra did very good job too. This song is on occasion of Appalraju getting his cinema chance. The song is all about he wants to show his heroine and wants to show a better heroine than Kareena and Bipasha.

RINGU ROADDU KAADA
Singer:
Hema Chandra & Gita Madhuri
Lyricist: Kaluva Sai

The song again looks like a song in the film made by Appalraju. Hemachandra and Geetha Madhuri did a very good job in this song. They have modulated the voices well and orchestration by Koti in this song is too good. This is one Joshilaa duet in the album.Coinings like six pack body lekunna gaani family pack body penchaane jaani are good.

PUBLICITY
Singer:
Srikrishna
Lyricist: Kaluva Sai

This song talks about the publicity circus film makers adopt. The song is a satire on publicity stunts of film makers. Most of the lyrics seem very true and force us to think about the ways of film makers who launch contests and do anything to get audience into the theatres. Though the song depends more on lyrics, Koti did good job in elevating the mood with a simple dappu in the background. Sri krishna did a good job.

CINEMAA MAYAM
Singer:
Revanth
Lyricist: Kaluva Sai

I would say this is the second best song in the album and probably the best in terms of composition. The song starts with a train background and the song goes on as if the train is going. In this song life is likened to a cinema and the director is likened to the god.The lyrics are very good and kaluva Sai did a very good job and he wrote well in likening the creator of a film to the god. Koti and Kaluva Sai get full marks for this song.

KOTTUKUNDAM TITTUKUNDAM
Singer:
Koti, Sai & Gita Madhuri
Lyricist: Kaluva Sai

The song is in rap style mixed with mass style. This is one crazy song which is just short and one stanza full.

Besides the above songs the album has three remixes which are listed here.

RING MIX
Singer:
Sunil Kashyap & Deepthi
Lyricist: Kaluva Sai
Music: Sunil Kashyap

NEE AMMA MIX
Singer:
Sunil Kashyap & Gita Madhuri
Lyricist: Ram Gopal Varma
Music: Sunil Kashyap

MUMMY MIX
Singer:
Sunil Kashyap & Gita Madhuri
Lyricist: Ram Gopal Varma
Music: Sunil Kashyap

On the whole the songs are sure to add to the fun of Appalraju’s quest to become a director and make a movie. The picturization will hold key to how far music will add to the success of the movie and we may have to wait till 04th feb to know the same.
