Karan Johar wants more new talent for films
Film Maker Karan Johar who made blockbusters like Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna and My Name Is Khan with Shah Rukh Khan says he prefers fresh faces as actors and new talent as directors. He appreciated Yash Raj Films for bringing out a film like Band Baaja Baaraat.
Karan Johar has been providing a platform to new directors by allowing them to make films under his banner Dharma Production. Amongst the freshers he has roped in are Tarun Mansukhani for Dostana, Ayan Mukherjee for Ranbir Kapoor‘s Wake Up! Sid and Rensil D’Silva for Kurbaan. His films I Hate Luv Storys and We Are Family were again directed by first timers Punit Malhotra and Siddharth Malhotra respectively.
Karan says that even for lead actors fresh talent has to be scouted. Now films are being made with just 8 to 10 actors. This should go upto 80 and then only newness and variety will come into the films. He has promised to make films with new actors and directors ubder his banner Dharma Productions in the coming years.
