Remember Kaizad Gustad? He is the director who introduced Katrina Kaif to Bollywood with the film Boom (2003). The film had a star cast which included Amitabh bachchan, Jackie Shroff, Gulshan Grover, Padma Lakshmi and Madhu Sapre. Though the film bombed at the box office, Katrina Kaif had been noticed and she had a flood of offers. She is now the most in-demand heroine in Bollywood.
For Kaizad Gustad, Boom was his third film. Earlier he made the films Corner Stone Blues (1994) and Lost & Found (1995). He also authored a book of short stories titled Of No Fixed Address.
While Kaizad was shooting for his fourth film Mumbai Central, a crew member Nadia Khan died at the Mahalaxmi railway station after being hit by a train. The director was accused of criminal negligence and jailed. He is now released and free.
The maverick director, who was assumed to be out of filmmaking because of his jail experience, stunned everyone by scripting and directing a film titled Baghdad Meets Saddam which is being produced by Bunty Walia under his banner GS Entertainment.
