Journalist files criminal case against Nagarjuna

A freelance journalist and film reviewer Y. Sunita Chowdhary lodged a criminal complaint against Nagarjuna and the Jubliee Hills police station registered a case against the actor-producer under sections 506 (criminal intimidation) and 509 (insulting the modesty of a woman) of Indian Penal Code.

The journalist, who is also a member of the Film Censor Board, alleged that Nagarjuna had approached her when she was interviewing a heroine at Annapoorna studio. In the police report, she claimed that Nagarjuna had asked her what she thought about his films Damarukam and King. When she gave him a negative feedback on his films, he is alleged to have verbally abused her and even threatened to kill her.

The police are investigating into the complaint.
