The James Bond film, starring Daniel Craig as the world’s most famous secret agent, with the working title Bond 23, has been permitted to shoot in India at locations in Delhi, Ahmedabad and Goa.
The film’s unit has approached the Indian Railways to shoot some action sequences, where Bond jumps from one train top onto another and later jumping off into a lake or sea.
Railway minister Dinesh Trivedi has accorded in principle permission for the shoot with some conditions attached. The film’s producers have to comply with the stipulated conditions.
However, the minister has asked James Bond to be brand ambassador for Indian Railways and shoot a two-minute spot. Will the film makers agree? If they do, it will be the first time that brand James Bond is used for promotion other than the film.
