India’s GenY grooves to international dance forms

With the mushrooming TV reality shows, youngsters in India are flocking to dance institutes to master the art of dance particularly the international forms. Now, dance masters are giving coaching in Pasodoble, Flamenco, Waltz, Lyrical Hip-hop, Funky Jazz, Bachata to enthusiastic learners.

Choreographer Sandip Soparrkar says that youngsters are fast catching up with international dance forms. Most of them know about locking and popping. Choreographer Remo D’Souza says that Salsa, Flamenco and Tango are some of the dance forms that are fast catching up with youngsters.

Choreographers of Bosco Caesar, who recently choreographed Aamir Khan in Delhi Belly and Ranbir Kapoor in Chillar Party, say that the future of dance in India lies in the fusion of international dance forms with the traditional Indian dances.
