I'm optimistic, says cancer-stricken Douglas

London, Sep 22, Hollywood actor Michael Douglas realises that nothing much can be done to relieve him of his throat cancer, but says he is optimistic about the treatment.

Douglas is already halfway through his radiation and chemotherapy programme, and gets immense support from family and fans, reports dailymail.co.uk.

The 65-year-old, who will be seen in “Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps”, said: “I’m in the middle of my programme, and it’s going along fine. I’m very optimistic and hopeful right now. My family has been very supportive. There’s not a lot that anybody can do. You’ve just got to kind of do the programme.

“But it’s the world you (learn to) understand about cancer. You get to know cancer survivors, and the kind of support and outpouring I’ve been getting has just been amazing.”

The actor says he is positive he will return to his fit self.

“Life is not all ha-ha-ha but I’m in good spirits. I’m an optimistic guy. Nothing has deterred me from my belief that I am going to beat this,” said Douglas.
