Hyderabadi child-actor in Hollywood

G.L.Shyam, a boy from Hyderabad, studying in Sri Aurobindo international school, Vidyanagar in the city, got a chance to share screen space with some of the best personalities of Hollywood film industry. He had been selected after thorough process of scrutiny from many contestants from different schools.

Shyam acted in the film international film titled Bhopal:A Prayer for Rain. The star cast of the film includes Martin Sheen,Mischa Barton and Kal penn of Namesake fame.

Shyam made his screen appearance debut in an Ad, when he was just 3 yeasr old. He played the role as a son to Rajeev Kanakala. This Ad was made by Mullapudi Vara of Naa Alludu and Visakha Express fame.

In his interview to ‘The Times of India’ (dated 2/1/2009), Shyam said his performance was well appreciated by the film crew in general and the director Ravi Kumar and film protagonist Kal Penn in particular.

Shyam’s dramatics teacher Ram Mohan Holagundi who is instrumental in making a good actor out of the insouciant boy is the happiest man.
