Hum Tum Aur Ghost Movie Review
The Film
Hum Tum Aur Ghost is all about a friendly ghost that communicates with humans and even helps them.
The Synopsis
Armaan (Arshad Warsi) is a professional fashion photographer for a magazine and is in love with its editor Gehna (Dia Mirza). He hears strange voices and sounds in his apartment and so sleeps on the railway platform benches.
Soon he realizes that he is actually listening to the voices of the dead.
Then his life changes. Three ghosts give him three tasks and to complete them he had to do a lot of odd things. His strange and erratic behavior gives Gehna the creeps and a platform for suspicion.
Will Armaan complete the tasks given by the ghosts? Will his girl friend reconcile with him? Will he continue to be in touch with the souls of the dead? The rest of the film answers these questions.
The Performances
Arshad Warsi gives a lively performance. Dia Mirza offers the glamour quotient.. Boman Irani, Sandhya Mridul and Zehra Naqvi have nothing much to do. All others just go through their motions.
The Techniques
The story and screenplay by Arshad Warsi, Arshad Ali Syed and Soumik Sen about lifeless ghosts is listless and truly lifeless. Director Kabeer Kaushik loses his grip over the narration and it drags quite often. The dialogues are witty here and there but don’t give life to the characters. Cinematography by Ashok Mehta is just about average. There is nothing much to write about Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy’s music.
The Verdict
You can wait to watch Hum Tum Aur Ghost when it gets aired by some TV channel or the other.
