One of the most prestigeous productions of actor-director-writer-producer Rakesh Roshan is “Kites” making one more high expectation film with his son Hrithik Roshan as the protagonist. All productions of Rakesh with his son Hrithik, including his debut film, have been super hits.
Now, “Kites” is being released in Hindi, English, Spanish and German through the BIG Cinemas of Anil Ambani’s ADAG. “Kites” has the Mexican beauty Barbara Mori as the leading lady and the theme is more like Rajesh Khanna-Asha Parekh starrer “Katti Pathang”.
“Kati Patang” is a 1970 Indian Hindi movie produced and directed by Shakti Samanta filmed before as No Man of Her Own (1950) starring Barbara Stanwyck. It would be remade in India again as the Tamil film “Nenjil Oru Mul” (1981), and by Hollywood again as Mrs. Winterbourne (1996). The film was Shakti’s 2nd film with Rajesh Khanna after Aradhana and marked the second of a string of nine movies in whi Samanta and Khanna collaborated. The movie also .features Rajesh Khanna, Nasir Husain, Bindu and Prem Chopra
Hrihtik attended a special screening of his movie “Kites” at the newly opened BIG Cinemas Manhattan (in Midtown East, New York) to an audience of competition winners. Hrithik talked with the audience about his forthcoming film “Kites”, which was distributed by BIG Cinemas affiliated company BIG Pictures. He also spoke of his journey over the years into superstardom before introducing the film to an eager audience.
