Hrithik Roshan’s ‘Kites’ to premiere at Cannes

The film ‘Kites’ starring Hrithik Roshan, Barbara Mori, Kangna Ranaut, Nick Brown and Kabir Bedi is being produced by Rakesh Roshan’s production house Filmkraft and is directed by Anurag Basu.
Big Pictures, the world-wide distributor of ‘Kites’ is planning the premiere of the film at the Cannes Film Festival. Big Pictures is gearing up to host press conferences and an elite cocktail event at Cannes for the film.

Big Pictures has also lined up meetings with Hollywood studios such as Fox, Sony, Paramount, Disney, Warner Bros, Universal, Lions Gate among many others in order to explore business propositions.

The producers have even bought time slots to screen the trailer of Kites on two digital screens adjacent to the red carpet entrance to the Palais, for the entire duration of the festival.
This is the first time that an Indian mainstream film is being promoted at Cannes like a big-budget Hollywood film. Kites will release in the last quarter of 2009.
