High Court Turned Down the Plea says Nothing offensive in ‘PK’
The Delhi High Court turned down a PIL which was filed against aamir khan’s ‘PK’ directed by Raj Kumar Hirani. The court said that the film was not offensive. A division of bench of Chief Justice G. Rohini and Justice R.S. Endlaw refused to rake in account a request which demanded to ban the film as it hurts the religious sentiments of the Hindus and doesn’t portray the Hindu Gods in an appreciable manner
The bench said, “What was wrong in the movie? We don’t find anything offensive in it. We don’t find any substance in the plea.” The court said that detail order about the plea will be passed soon. The plea was filed by Gautam who said that the film mocks at the Hindu god and Lord Shiva was shown in bad light. He said, “The Hindu way of worship has also been criticized in a most unwarranted manner.”
Additional Solicitor General Sanjay Jain rejected the plea saying that similar matter had appeared before the Supreme Court and it was rejected.
Aamir Khan and Anushka Sharma starrer ‘PK’ is much appreciated and liked by the critics and the audiences but the film faced criticism of the activists saying it hurts the religious sentiments of the Hindus.
