The most prestigious project, Nandamuri Balakrishna’s 100th film is going to take shape and an announcement in this regard is expected on April 8, the Telugu New Year’s Day ‘Ugadi’ at Amaravati. The formal launch of the film will also be held on the same day. As per the most reliable sources, Krish of ‘Gamyam’ and ‘Kanche’-fame is going to wield the megaphone for the prestigious project and DSP is most likely to score tunes for the movie. It is also learnt that ‘Yodhudu’ is the title under consideration for the movie, which features a story with historical backdrop and Balakrishna is going to play the role of Gathami Putra Shatakarni, a ruler from Shatavahana dynasty. It is also learnt that the film unit is trying to contact senior Bollywood actress, Hemamalini, to play the role ‘Rajamatha’ in the movie. Presently, Hemamalini is in the US and she is likely to return on April 10. Once she reaches India, the director will meet her formally and try to get a green signal from her. It may be recalled that Hemamalini earlier appeared in a Telugu film some 51 years ago, as a dancer in ‘Pandava Vanavasam’, i.e., in 1965, where she shook her leg for a song which goes like ‘Joharu Sikhi Pincha Mouli…’. Meanwhile, reports reaching say, Nayanatara was approached by the film unit to play heroine opposite Balakrishna. If she gives her nod, this will be the hat-trick movie for her with Balakrishna. Earlier, Nayan paired up with Balakrishna in ‘Simha’ and ‘Srirama Rajyam’.
