Indian actor, film executive, playback singer and screenplay writer Siddharth (DoB April 17, 1979) is celebrating his 30th birthday today.
Siddharth, born as Siddharth Suryanarayanan in Chennai, studied at DAV Boys’ Senior Secondary School, Chennai and Sardar Patel Vidyalaya, Delhi. He got his B.Com (Honors) degree from Kirori Mal College, New Delhi. Siddharth was part of the reputed theatre group of the college The Players. He was also president of the college’s debating society and attended the World Debating Championships. He completed his MBA in 2001 from S.P Jain Institute of Management & Research, Mumbai. He was declared “CNBC Manager of the Year” in 1999.
After his MBA, Siddharth landed the role of assistant director for Mani Ratnam’s Kannathil Muthamittal through cinematographer P C Sreeram and his brother Jayendra. Screenplay writer Sujatha recommended his name to Shankar for casting in his then upcoming movie Boys. The movie was a moderate success in Tamil but the dubbed version in Telugu gave Siddharth an opening in the Telugu industry.
Siddharth worked for Prabhu Deva in the film Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana that gave his first filmfare best actor award. Aata (2007), Konchem Ishtam Konchem Kashtam (2007), Bommarillu and Rang de Basanti are some of his best known films.
Siddharth is now acting in the film Oye directed by Anand Ranga and produced by DVV Danaiah.
