Dusky South Indian beauty Mamta Mohandas was born in Bahrainand attended the Indian School there. She first became a model and then completed Bachelor’s degree at Mount Carmel College, Bangalore. Mohandas appeared in print ads for IBM and Kalyan Kendra and walked the ramp for the Mysore Maharajah and Raymonds. She is trained in Carnatic and Hindustani music.
Mamta made her debut as playback singer in Tollywood in the film Rakhee with music directorDevi Sri Prasad and later started acting. She became popular with the song Akalesthe Annam Pedtha in Chiranjeevi’s film Shankardada Zindabad.
Mohandas débuted in the Malayalam film Mayookham in 2005 directed by Hariharan. Her breakthrough was the role of Mammootty’s sister in the successful Bus Conductor. She then acted with Suresh Gopi in Adhbutam and Lanka and with Jayaram in Madhuchandralekha.
Mamta played a supporting role in the film Yamadonga directed by SS Rajamouli. Her first film in Telugu as the main lead was in Krishnarjuna and later Victory. She acted a cameo in Kathanayakudu and later in JD Chakravarthy’s Homam. She acted in Nagarjuna’s movie King directed by Srinu Vaitla. She is presently shooting for the film Rummy opposite Nagarjuna.
Mamta’s latest Malayalam film Passenger was a big hit. She will also act in another Malayalam film In Love With Kerala to be directed by Anish G Karrinath.
