Actress Asin Thottumkal who has set Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu and Hindi screens on fire is celebrating her birthday today.
The 24 year old Kerala-born actress made her debut with the Sathyan Anthikkad’s Malayalam film “Narendra Makan Jayakanthan Vaka” in 2001. Her Telugu film “Amma Nanna O Tamila Ammayi” (2003) opposite Ravi Teja directed by Puri Jagannath got her a Filmfare Award for the Best Telugu Actress.
Asin’s Tamil film “Ghajini” with Suriya directed by AR Murugudos has been a great success and so was its Telugu dubbed version. The film’s remake in Hindi with Aamir Khan collected more than Rs 200 Cr world wide.
Asin acted with all top actrors of Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam including Kamal Hasan. Her Telugu films include “Shivamani 9848022338”, “Lakshmi Narasimha”, “Gharshana”, “Chakram” and “Annavaram”.
For Hindi “Ghajini”, Asin was the Winner, Filmfare Best Hindi Debut Award, Winner, IIFA Best Debut Award, Winner, Star Screen Best Female Newcomer Award, Winner, Stardust Female Superstar of Tomorrow Award, nominated for Filmfare Best Actress Award and nominated for IIFA Best Actress Award.
For Tamil “Dasavathaaram “ she was the winner of ITFA Best Actress Award. For the Tamil “Ghajini” she won the Filmfare Best Tamil Actress Award.
Asin’s latest Hindi film “London Dreams” made by Vipul Shah with Salman Khan and Ajay Devagan as the male leads is releasing this week.
