Galaxy Entertainment to sell 50% cinema tickets in AP

The Andhra Pradesh government issued orders authorizing Galaxy Entertainment to sell 50% cinema tickets on line in all theatres in the state for a period of 10 years.

Those who wish to buy on line will get 4 tickets per head and they will be charged for the service provided. Only upper class tickets will be available on line.

Galaxy deducts entertainment and other taxes at source and pays it to the government. The balance amount will be paid to the theatre management.
In the first phase, this arrangement will operate in Greater Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, Guntur, Tenali, Tirupathi, Kakinada, Rajahmundry, Elur, Ongole and Warangal. Gradually, the online booking will cover all theatres in the state.

AP government has issued these orders for on line booking to check improper payment of entertainment and other taxes.

The GO passed by government of AP is preposterous to say the least.
It is completely unfair and nepotism at its best. This action by the Govt. of AP has no parallel and the entire film industry is not voicing any protest. How in the world in a free country like us, this can be allowed?

This state does not belong to influential people. Fair play is what is needed. Galaxy with no experience in this will give harrowing time to cinema watchers. And piracy will increase. This will cost the film industry very dearly.
