Mumbai, Sep 24, As a part of Mother Teresa’s birth centenary celebrations, an NGO will organise an international film festival here on the Nobel Peace Prize winner Saturday, a spokesperson Friday said.
“The Mother Teresa International Film Festival-2010 (MTIFF) will begin with the screening of the documentary, ‘Mother Teresa’, at the Bandra Reclamation, at 6 p.m. Saturday,” said Sister Phyllis Fernandes, president of Signis, western region.
“Well-known English actress Olivia Hussey plays the role of Mother Teresa in the documentary directed by Fabrizio Costa. It’s our endeavour to exhibit these movies in all parts of India and the world,” Fernandes said.
“Mother Teresa” is set in India of late 1940s.
“There are 14 other films on Mother as part of the festival and available for screening till Dec 31. We will be happy to provide the tapes to schools, colleges or other institutions who are willing to screen these films,” Fernandes said.
MTIFF-2010 is the third film festival organised by Signis, a non-governmental organisation which includes members from 140 countries and brings together professionals from radio, television, cinema, video, media etc.
