Metropolitan Magistrate Mayuri Singh took cognisance of the complaint of Rajender Singh Raja against the makers of OMG Oh My God and directed police officials of Nand Nagri in North East Delhi area to place their reply on November 27.
The complainant is the national general secretary of a social organisation Shiv Sena Hindustan. He alleged that the film has several dialogues and scenes which are objectionable and hurt the sentiments of Hindus.
The dialogues have been spoken against the gods and goddesses of Hindu religion, the petition said.
This act is illegal and irresponsible and has hurt the feelings of Hindus and has also insulted the gods and goddesses of Hindus, the complaint said, adding the film shows Rawal, playing the role of an atheist, filing a case against god in a court.
The film’s actors Paresh Rawal, Mithun Chakraborty, its director Umesh Shukla and the Central Board of Film Certification are the respondents in the petition.
However, the cinegoers seem to have overwhelmingly approved the film OMG Oh My God. Made with Rs 13 crore, it has collected Rs 71 crore until October 19 and still running in theatres.
