Deepa Mehta : No Method in my filmy madness
Famed and popular for her daring choice of themes in film making, director Deepa Mehta, well-known for her Elements Trilogy, has now taken up a formidable challenge of incorporating Salman Rushdie’s Booker prize winning debut novel titled Midnight’s Children into a celluloid visual.
The Booker prize winning title by Rushdie incorporates ambiguous themes of ‘magic realism,’ said to be almost impossible to be portrayed on the visual medium.
But that has not deterred her Water dowsing Fire of Earth-y Deepa who took up the challenge head-on.
Deepa Mehta, who cinematically spewed Earth, Fire and Water, says that there is no method to her madness of film making as she loves challenges and exploring unsheltered waters.
