David Dhawan to remake “Chashme Badoor”
Director David Dhawan has been signed up by Studio 18 to remake the 1981 Sai Paranjpe’s super hit “Chashme Badoor” which starred Faroque Shaikh, Deepti Naval, Ravi Baswani and Rakesh Bedi.
Studio 18 is said to have brought the rights of the film for Rs 15 lakhs as the production house wanted to make a quick film. David Dhawan plans to cast Ritesh Deshmukh for the role played by Faroque Shaikh.
David is said to be planning to modernise the subject as it is being remade almost 30 years after the original film, but he will stick to the plot. A team of writers are on the job and the director is planning to complete “Chashme Badoor 2” before taking up “Partner 2” with Salman Khan and Govinda.
