Danny Boyle buys new homes to Slumdog kids
In a slum clearing drive in Mumbai, the child artistes of 8-Oscar winning film “Slumdog Millionaire”, Ismail and Rubina have lost their respective homes.
And so the film’s director Danny Boyle and Christian Colson flew down to Mumbai and purchased a new home for Ismail
who played young Salim in the film, and is planning to do the same for Rubina.
After the success of “Slumdog Millionaire” , the film producers had established the “Jai Ho Trust” in 2008 to help fund the childrens’ education.
In addition to buying homes for the child artistes, Boyle and Colson are also planning to explore the possibility of another film on an Indian theme which will feature Indian as well as International stars.
